Commemorate the silver and gold anniversaries of these historic campaigns with this premiere edition of Vintage LSU. Journey back in time with a rare vintage program cover celebrating the 1908 Champions of the South, and continue on through the magical 1958 National Championship season, led by LSU’s legendary Heisman winner, Billy Cannon. Each archival-quality reproduction is printed on 100% recycled paper with soy-based inks, and is easily removable to fit any standard 11”x14” frame, so you can enjoy your favorites long after the season becomes just another perfect memory. “Geaux Tigers!” About the Images The images featured in this calendar are archival-quality reproductions of the covers of the actual souvenir game programs that were sold at the games many decades ago. In some cases the images have been digitally repaired and restored where creases, tears, marks, or other damage would have otherwise distracted from the appreciation of the artwork as it appeared at that time. Some images have been cropped and/or resized to fit this format. The Golden Age: 1920s - 1960s The period from the 1920s-1960s is considered by many collectors to be the Golden Age of college football program cover art. Talented men and women created sublime, provocative and often whimsical works of art for any given Saturday—using oil on canvas, watercolor, pastels, and pen and ink. Editor's note: Some of the most memorable images were created by staff artists and syndicated by advertising companies as stock art, which schools then customized by overprinting their specific game information in black. Think you are seeing double? Rest assured, ALL of the images featured in our calendars are faithful reproductions of the actual physical programs that were sold at each school on gameday during this unforgettable era.Collector's Series This calendar is part of a collector's series featuring archival-quality reproductions of home and away game souvenir programs. Each year brings 12 different cover reproductions from actual programs that were sold at the stadiums during the early 1900s to the 1960s. We will make every effort to ensure that the images in these calendars will not repeat in this format. We will be introducing other products featuring some of the most popular images; however, this unique format of 11"x14" frame-ready prints will almost always feature different, authentic cover images each year. Officially Licensed This is an officially licensed product. Part of the proceeds of each sale goes back to the school.
